Look closely, If the fan was all busted up and gone, good chance the snap ring is still there on the drive shaft. It's a pretty hefty snap ring. If not, once you get a fan ya can probably pick up a snap ring for it. It has to go a specified distance from the rear coupler to avoid interference with the lift arm mechanism. I'm thinking 1-1/2" ahead of it but you probably should consult your manual to be sure.
