I would only replace the coil as a last chance effort. They are pricey. First thing to check is the voltage going into the coil. MAke sure you have 12 volts there with the key on. If you do, then I would clean the points. I would say that your problem probably lies there. Dirty points means no spark.If you clean the points and still get no spark, then I might look at changing the coil.
