Default Cub 100 Carburetor

My 100 is acting up and I suspect it may be the carburetor. I've already had it running this year and turned about 75% of the garden last week. While it was running though, I had to leave the choke on the entire time otherwise it would die.

The last time I used it, it kept running worse and worse until it wouldn't run at all and hasn't cranked since.

I cleaned the points and put in a new spark plug and neither seemed to help. After reading some on this forum, I checked the throttle shaft and there seems to be some play in it.

Question: Should I buy a kit(s) and rebuild this carburetor or buy one of the aftermarket carbs online?

If I rebuild this one, where is the best place to source parts, and what exactly will I need?

Is there anything else I might need to look at on the tractor as well?

Here is a picture of the top of the carburetor. The linkage looks a little different than some of the other pictures I've seen. I also noticed that the linkage is broken at the throttle shaft and just seems to be sitting there, not really fastened.

Let me know what you think. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, so please type slow.
