i have done the cast iron swap in my 1772. best move i made. just have to swap all the gears over from the aluminum to the iron. and the tank issue was much simpler then most people think. the issue is the return fuel line is on the bottom of the tank and that's what hits the rear. all i did was plug the hole in the tank and relocated the return to the side. tank fits perfect. i have much more confidence in the iron when i hook up my 600lb backhoe and go to work with it.

1st pic is the issue, 2nd is my fix, 3rd is it installed with no other modifications.
