Hello and Welcome!!!

Please Please Please check all the grounds. I had the exact same problem with my 1650, got very mad, and sold it. Buyer told me it had a bad ground and he repaired it. It started right up just like it should from then on. I was always charging batteries and fighting with it to start.

Take the battery cables off, wire brush with a drill, replace bolts if needed, inspect cables for breaks.

Also check power cable to starter/gen for all the same things as with ground.

I KICK myself EVERY DAY for selling my 1650 and overlooking something so simple that I should have looked for.
