That is a Quietline tractor. I believe that the newer K series Kohler engines did not have balance gears in them. If the oil dipstick goes straight down from the top of the engine, the engine does not have balance gears in it. If the dipstick is mounted on the side of the engine block, this engine would be designed for balance gears. The side curtain would not fit on the tractor if the dipstick was mounted on the side of the block.
With the vibration problem in the mid-throttle range, and less at idle and WOT, I am going to guess that the problem is in your ISO mounts. I replaced the mounts in my 1250 about a year ago and used genuine Cub Cadet parts. I was told to use the original bolts and leave 1-1 1/2 threads showing on the locknut. If I correctly recall, the instruction sheet says to tighten to 100 1nch-pounds, which, to me, is very tight. I used new grade 8 bolts, locknuts and washers from Caterpillar. Long story short, I tighten one turn at a time on each mount until I cured the vibration problem in my engine, and made the tractor fun to ride. YOur results may vary, but I believe I have four to six threads showing, depending upon which mount. Keep adjusting until you get it the way you want it.
Good luck.
