the plug over the exhaust valve does flow more air. that style head was used on the QL and newer. in our testing on stocker engines we built, dyno numbers don't show that air flow on a goverened engine is benefit . We found that the LP head was best followed by the 2nd gen head style which should be on the engine on your tractor. while there's air flow it can't overcome the amount of lost compression .
keep in mind the more compression to a certain point creates torque, torque and RPM are calculated to get actual horsepower
