In my 55+ years or so of wrenchin', spark plugs spark, if they didn't they wouldn't be in business.
Choose Blonde Brunett or Readhead.
On the points, 99% of the time a little swipe of fine emery or crocus cloth, and adjust properly, and they are fine.
Back when we had points in auto/trucks, ya after 50,000 miles they do get worn a bit but not on these little engines.
Do spend your $$ on air filters & good oil.
A good Gas filter keeps little things out of the carb.
And fresh fuel is good, do not use preminum, the Compression ratio does not require it.
And preminum is just not fresh, with 99.99% of people buying regular,
Preminum just sits in the underground tank.
