Try checking your front spindle grease zerks.One may need some grease.Then there is the steering box,it may need a rebuild.I find the hardest part is removing the steering wheel but most times a air chisel works well to get it off.Don't forget to use the pb blaster....let it soak a few days if the steering wheel was missing the cap.
As for the decks,as long as you get one that needs no tlc,sharp blades help,it mows real nice.
