I would get a small piece of aluminum flashing at the local hardware store. Some of it is thin enough to cut with some heavy scissors, make a template, and then cut it out and fit it in there. If it has some crinkles in it, place it on a piece of ceramic or hard floor tile and roll it carefully with a smooth rolling pin.
