Hello all!
I'm about to pull my hair out over my 1200. It has spark but not sure if its enough to fire. I checked the timing, the S mark is in the sight hole on the flywheel cover when the points just start to move. It's getting fuel because it will flood out the carb. Could it be that its just not a strong enough spark? Or could a bad condenser be the cause? The points have some pitting. I put a new coil on it. It is a Primeline from O'Reillys and I checked it before I installed it. Or how would it act if the exhaust valve was stuck open? The intake is moving, pulled the carb off and could see that. I even poured a few ounces of gas in then put the spark plug back in and still nothing! I got a new condenser and points haven't had time to put them in yet. Even ran a new wire from the points to the coil.I has least some compression can hear it when you spin it over with the spark plug out
If the engine was completely worn out it I would think it would still start? What if the battery just doesn't have enough juice to spin it fast enough? If anybody has and ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!
