Thought I'd share some pics of some upgrades/add ons I did to the 147 and mower deck.
1st up; a PO had replaced the runner with another set of gauge wheels on my 48" deck and ever since the front ones weren't doing so well. They were shot and they often tore up my lawn. Here is an old pic of them:
So I removed them, drilled the hole bigger, and put in spherical ones.
These work better. They don't tear up the lawn when turning, but it makes removing the mower deck fun. I have to jack up the front end and slide it out.

It's still the best case scenario with the runner gone.
Bought a lift assist spring at Red Power Round Up last month. This was a relatively easy install. It'll come in handy with the rototiller and snow blade.
These were also bought at Red Power. Finally wheel weights! This'll help with snow removal.
The bolts are a tad long. I didn't buy them; they were given to me by someone who bought them at an IH dealer. They work so whatever. I might try to make them shorter on the inside (unfortunately they did not have carriage bolts, but these work), cut them off, or just not worry about the excess.
It was either white or yellow weights (red would look way silly.) After consideration, I wanted yellow as the only way to go. They really stand out. They would look better if they were the same color as the whole machine, but that's another project down the road.
Up next: snow blade repaint. That's for another thread.
