Dealer error seems like the logical conclusion. They did put the deck on (BTW its a fabricated deck and looks VERY stout). I really wanted to like this tractor and I'm trying to be fair-minded and rational. However, there's just something about having an expensive machine crap out on you the minute you get it home that, well... makes it hard to love. Thanks again for the thoughtful comments gents.
