It moves the bottom of the arms out 3/8" each, so the only real difference is the arms are now able to come 3/4" closer at the implement connection point (total).

I can not tell the difference.

BUT, boy, the tractor is STIFF!! With the 1872, you could feel the foot treads "flex" going over uneven ground. Not the 2284.

The arms made the frame rigid!! I like it!!
