so for some reason, I just hate belly mowers...they just look so lawn tractor-ish, and to me are a pain to connect....so..i made a mini brush/bush hog...

scored a free craftsman mower with a 6 hp briggs......
cut the deck up, welded it down...
welded reinforcements, and an attachment point....
bolted a pulley from tractor supply to where the blade should have gone....

this was a proof of concept low budget build (no tension pulleys..just straight belt...these mowers are always cheap on craigslist...so..


thoughts...I thought it wouldn't really cut...surprisingly..it did really well..i mean better than I expected...


keeping the cub barely above idle and cruising it cut knee high grass with no problem...raising it with the sleeve hitch was super sweet as the grass got higher..raise it to the limit..for a finished look a second pass lower..(that's for knee high)....with a more hp engine, it would be great..but then you get into harvesting a lawn tractor engine/elec start...
