Looks like somebody's been in there before and kludged up the clutch...I can't see a teaser spring in there. If you're doing a complete rebuild, make a new driveshaft, get a new pilot bushing for the 3-pin driver, resurface the pressure plates on a lathe, and get a new friction disc, teaser spring, main spring, throwout bearing, and spirol pins. It'll cost you about $150, but it'll be good for another 30 years, and it is well worth the smooth operation that only a new clutch has.
Hey moderators...this is a question that gets posted like once every couple months, and I know I've answered it several times, as has Merk and others. Can we create some sort of a "clutch rebuilding tips" section in the library so we don't have to keep re-posting this stuff all the time?
