I think I have to say that I agree with Myron about this, your 86 is a lot more valuable as an original 86 than something that has been cobbled together. I also understand your desire for more power, but the old Kohler "K" series engines are a darn sight more powerful than the engines they have today, I would guess a Kohler 8 hp to be equil to or better than a modern 12 hp.

Are you sure the motor needs to be rebuilt or do you think it could just stand the carb rebuilt, plug, points, condenser and have the timing adjusted?
