It took me a long time of soaking it in PB. I put the nut on 1/2 way, and hit the top of the nut while having someone pull on it. But remember the wheel will only travel as far as the nut is backed off. Just a word of caution; You WILL need to replace the nut by doing this, because it will flatten it out, but a new one isn't a lot at a hardware store and if your restoring it, you will want a new one anyways.

If that doesn't work, I have also used a gear puller before.
