I have a line on a 100 and I need help.

It is a one owner cub, It is fairly plain Jane except for the fenders. It is in decent original condition with original paint! It is really straight and un-messed with.
I have no idea if it will run or if it even turns over. I was in a rush so I didn't try to jump it or anything. So here is the big question what is it worth. He is asking $300 and I don't think its too bad I truly think it will run requiring little to no work. My plans would be to give it a face lift w/paint and play with it for a little while until I find a better owner and send it down the road. I did notice that the steering wheel had about 1/2" play back and forth. that a problem? If so what would be involved in fixing it. This will be my first early narrow frame so I'm kinda halfway in the dark. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
