i thought i had a timing issue as well and i spent so much time on getting the timing perfect and figured the carb was fine until a buddy brought his carb over and we bolted it on and she ran like a champ.
I cleaned my carb and rebuilt it and it was just not meant to run well again. the are real precise pieces and if its worn or not put back together correctly you are going to kill yourself trying to fix it.
so if you can swap a good known running carb on her and try that you can save yourself some headaches. though those headaches are what really make you learn!!
Good luck
