Been working on the Cub since picking it up a while back. Most of the work was cleaning up rusty parts and doing some sanding and painting.
My son and I sand blasted the wheels and prepped the rest of the tractor for some shiny stuff. We originally purchased the tractor for pulling but found out that these aren't really good for pulling. So, now it mows our lawn. We found a 32 inch deck for it and got everything working.
Main issue with shining her up was trying to find the decals for the hood. It NEEDED painting but, the original ones were in pieces and cracking badly. No body makes them so, I devised a plan. I went to a local model airplane store and purchased adhesive-backed sheets of blue and black. Then, I cut them to size and matched their spacing with a section of original decal. Then I put a yellow strip about the same size (also matching placement with the OEM decal) over the others. The only thing that doesn't look "right" is that I don't have the numbering like the original set. Not too worried about it though.
I also filled in the hood emblem since it came apart while removing it.
I just took a quick picture of it to just kind of show it off and get back into the groove of posting here. Been busy.
Hope you like it!
