All I have is a Lincoln AC225 "Tombstone" stick welder. Make do but wish for more. From what I have read it seams having the DC option would be good.
Would love to have a wire welder. If anyone wants to get me one for Christmas that would be just fine with me

On a serious note, would the DC option really help that much with welding thinner material?
