I like your idea about using a toggle switch for the fuel pump. Nice thing about going that way is that you can turn the pump off and let it run out of gas so you don't have gas sitting in the float bowl to go bad. When you are ready to run it just flip the switch, let the pump fill the float bowl and light her up. The 2182 has an electric pump and I just turn it on for a few seconds before I crank it, hit the starter and it lights off right now.
