Glad to hear you're OK. I hope you learned from this "life lesson". Good move being off to the side. Always think things thru before execution and if your gut says "no", listen.

I have wooden ramps and have a 2x3 on edge screwed to the bottom side for extra support. This is used on a small trailer and not up onto a truck bed. I would highly recommend metal ramps.

You mentioned the nose piece is slightly tweaked. Loosen up the bolts and put it back in the correct position. It may out of wack from the gravity check.
