Default Thinking about swapping 10.5" wide tires for 8.5"

Because I have a very narrow area to access with my IHCC 1450, I would like to reduce the width as much as possible. I currently have 23x10.5-12 tires installed that results in ~37.5" overall width, and I have been thinking about switching to 23x8.5-12 to reduce the overall width of the tractor to 36". From what I have read, I understand I will need to switch from 8.5" wide rims to 7" rims to fit the tires.

Does anybody know if this will actually accomplish what I am after? Will this create any other problems? Does anybody know the backspacing on the 7" rims? did any 1450's come with 8.5" wide tires from the OEM?

Cheers,
Charlie
