Ive been wanting to build a rat rod go cart out of a mower and my research shows the belt drive tractors are the easiest and cheapest to convert. A quick pulley/belt change will really effect the speed. I havent found any info on using hydros however I would assume you could re gear the rear end to give more speed.If you find info on hydros I would be interested also.
