After putting the engine brackets back into a 1450 last week, I believe the parts used in the assembly could allow as much as 1/4" or more variation in the final location of the crankshaft of the engine.
This caused the requirement of the ball bushing.
I think to eliminate the ball bushing, and maintain proper driveshaft alignment, the engine would have to be custom fit into a Quietline chassis on a per unit basis, every machine would be different.
