Well I bought a 1650 no start a few weeks ago thinking I would at least pull the hydraulic pump or whole rear end to add a 3 point and hydro lift to my 129. Especially after the engine wouldn't turn and the PO cut the drive shaft because he couldn't figure out how to get it in "neutral".

But I was removing the rag joints and bolts from it to put on a 1200 and thought i would try to turn the flywheel over one more time and it turned yesterday! Well I put the starter back on and it cranked! After fooling with the points till late one night, MrCubCadet convinced me he could make it start when I picked up a plow from him. So I packed it up and hauled it for 2 hrs along with a blown 109 for him and an 882 to show off.

He had it running in 10 minutes! we started putting it back together (a newer shaft and gas tank back on etc.) We started again and reved it up but heard a clatter in the engine. I was so depressed after she ran for just a few minutes. I have never went past the valve cover in any engine. Well he was confident it was the rod not tight. We pulled it off and in 20 minutes he had the oil pan off and sure enough the previous rebuilder had not tightened the rod to the crank. There was about 1/4 inch of slop and the crank shaft had been scored as you see above. Well he called his engine expert and we lightly sanded the crank. Just need gaskets, and rod! Hopefully next weekend this puppy will be tilling and plowing.

PS Sorry 4SPEED (Doug) I didn't bring anything to help you plow this weekend. I did buy a Brinly U adapter sleeve hitch thing. Just gotta spring $500 on the 3 point for the 882 and we can plow with it or the 1650 with chains and a little weight.

Big thanks to MrCubCadet for all the help and knowledge!
