I think you need to buy the 782 and tell me where the 1282 is. I need a 1282 for my collection.
To be honest, the way it sounds, I think I would go with the 1282. It sounds like it has been better cared for. I have a fear of 782's that have been setting outside and missing parts. You can always add hydraulic lift to the 1282. You can usually buy a entire hydraulic lift setup for about $150 for the red ones.
