Re-ringing a Briggs 16 HP Vanguard twin out of a CC 1641. Got the new rings and gasket set. Got the rings on the pistons, and noticed there is some space allowing the rings to be moved up and down, (not completely filling the space). Is this ok? And does anyone know of a link where I could go to see pictures of the rings installed correctly?
Another question I had was on getting the old seals off. The main crankcase seal is pretty well attached, and not at all brittle. Tried peeling it off with a knife, not wanting to break away from the block. Is there any other methods anyone has used at getting seals off?
