Both, actually! I went out to the shed this morning, and found her dripping fuel out thru the air filter, again. Disheartening, as I had already replaced the float valve. Anyway, this was my excuse to pull the carb and do a full rebuild. Found that the pot-metal clamp is loose on the throttle shaft, and the throttle shaft is loose in the carb body. The former was fixed by some 0.003" shim stock wrapped around the throttle shaft before reinstalling the clamp, the latter will be fixed (later) with a bushing.

In any case, got everything cleaned, reassembled, and readjusted, and she's running beautifully. Not sure why the float valve was leaking again, but I suspect it may have been some debris getting in from the rotting rubber bushings in the compression fittings on either end of the steel fuel line. I had already ordered new, so they got replaced this morning.

Will be checking those out. This repair is on my short list, for after we finish the spring clean-up and mulching. Right now, I'm using that tractor every day!
