Yeah it's hard to convey just what I mean without pics, but it'll be 7 1/2 hrs before I get home from work to take pics.
The shaft isn't welded to the hydro. There is a flex disk joint at the hydro end. The weld I mentioned is at the "T" at the end of the shaft. That 1x4 (or so) plate that bolts to the flex disk is welded to the end of the shaft. What I want to do is make 2 more of these plates, cut a piece of the shaft out of the hub end, weld these plates to each end of the gap and mount a flex disk there at the hub..
In my mind, doing so would eliminate the need for the pin and slot in the hub, but I dunno. Anyone here make their own drive shaft?
