Here is a narrow frame spring assist that I made up a year or so ago. The Spring is from a "different color" dealer, and is 1-1/2 inches in diameter as opposed to the correct 1-1/4 inch spring. Therefore it will ONLY fit on a gear drive tractor because it rubs between the rear end housing and frame on a hydro.
BTW, The spring isn't as strong as I would have liked for it to be... Alright for a mower deck but just not quite enough for a front blade. Probably would work great if you also had a Brinly style spring assist mounted on the lift bar of the 3 point.
Not necessarily a failed attempt, but not quite good enough to go into production.
