Good news! Went out to work on the old girl today in the cold windy Iowa air. Pulled the engine, pulled the pan and stripped it down. It was 180 degrees out of time...but not where you would think. The 70 has that two peice cam with the spark advance weights. The peice where the push plunger rides was not timed with the marks on the rest of the cam. I switched it around to the correct way, put it all back together and it fired on the second revolution. It took a little brainstorming and running through the memory to think of that. I got to drive it. Still need to work on the throttle and choke cables. It seems to have plenty of power.
