I looked at that option and felt I was getting a little close to the carb. I choose to go about 20 degrees out of the block and the stack came out between the hood and the air cleaner. I ran the tractor for a hour or so and checked the hood decal area and it was not hot. So the idea to move it away from the hood was a good recommendation by the guys on here.

Hmm... didn't think about it being too close. There is probably not anything available to buy with that kind of bend. Would have to see if I can get someone to make a 20 degree bend maybe. Just a thought. Thanks for the heads up.
