1810 won`t start no spark ??
 

Just aquired a club cadet 1810 according to operator manual.Turns over fine just won`t start.No Spark what so ever.Any Idea would be greatly be:bash2: appreciated.Also if any one could lead me to a service manual or wiring diagrams.

You need to replace your coils, about $40 aftermarket. There is a chance that your ignition switch is bad and has grounded out your coil, you can check this by removing the ground wire from the coil and try to start. However if you're going to the trouble to get at the coil spend the $40.

Check first to make sure that the ignition switch and/or part of the wiring harness isn't grounding the kill wire for the magneto. Unfortunately, the best way to do this is to disconnect the kill wire at the mag, which requires removal of the fan shroud,which requires you to unbolt the motor and slide it forward after disconnecting the driveshaft. If that didn't work, try re-gapping the mag-to-flywheel clearance as specified in the manual. I think it's like 8 to 12 thousandths. If that doesn't work, it's probably time for a new $100 magneto. The service manual will have wiring diagrams. I'm not sure if we have a .pdf of it on this website or not.

That much??????? really?????? I've not bought one new as I have used spares. I just replaced one on a neighbor's BS and it only cost me $40.

Yeah, Briggs coils are pretty cheap. I checked 2 or 3 years ago when I thought my 1811 ate one, and it was $96 through Cub Cadet.

Aftermarket is $61 and some change here...
