K241 reborn
first i'd like to thank mr. houtz, who is a sponsor at the top of the page, for his help in getting my parts. new and used i was able to give life back to my
k241. after ironing out some carb wrinkles i was able to get the engine purring like it was brand new. not knowing what you get when you purchase used engines like this is a great learning experience, no matter what level of mechanic you are. when i had the engine apart, i noticed it had the .10 stamp on the top of the piston. the not knowing part came in to play at this time as i took a chance that the po had done this right. lack of funds pushed me towards this decision. sometimes the smallest bet pays off as it did this time. with an initial lite puff of smoke she cranked over. i've repaired my share of smaller engines in the past, but none sounded as sweet as this at all rpm ranges. it has a certain sound that bleeds yellow and white longevity. next up will be the hydro. it's been sitting in pieces, waiting for it's turn at some new parts as well. i may not have had any winter seat time,(not that i'm complaining) but soon will with this revival. |
