carb question
GUYS.
I purchased a 149 in rough shape but complete for 80 bucks. I have been slowly restoring it . it came with a walbro carb that I just cant get just right and I would like to replace it with a carter. My question is will a # 26 carb work or do I have to find a # 30. I have plenty of good # 26 carbs. THANKS MIKE. |
A 26 won't do. You will need a 30 for sure. The 30's are for the 14 and 16 hp motors. Get us some pics when you get a chance of that 149. One of my favorite models. :beerchug:

What is the number in the carb throat just above the choke plate on the Walbro??

it looks like the walbro number is 60

I have a couple of Walbro 52's which are the replacement for the #26 and are pretty much junk in there original form. I also have a couple Walbro 64's that I have modified to use Holley jets. These are sized for the 14 and 16 HP engines. I am not familiar with the Walbro #60. Wish I could be of more use.
