123 is running, but the brake is locked now

Well I got the 123 going again, if you remember after I got it it wouldn't turn over without the driveshaft removed or the spark plug out. Some of you said it could be the A.C.R. right again! Fixed it , and did the valves and checked the cylinder out, put it all back together with all gaskets and a fresh coat of paint and dropped it in.
Set the brake incase something wanted to walk off, fired it up, prrrrfect, runs good. Shut everything down to check for leaks, went to push it, no go.
Yes the hydro dump is engaged, I can push it backwards, but not forward.
Now what happend?

Last summer the oring on the brake puck wore out and froze mine up.

Are you thinking that's it? All I did was lock the brake, been done many times before, then once the tractor was running I released it and the darn thing seemed like it was stuck. But why would it roll backwards?

Do you hear any noises when you roll it?

Try taking out the hydro release valves and put them in the opposite side and see if that changes things if so, one is hung up.

Oh have fun with that!!! I personally HATE my 123 because it is so hard to work on. It will take quite a few hours to get the rear end out to check the valves. If yoi can, find a way to suspend the tractor so it is vertical, sitting on the back of the tranny. That is the easiest way to work on it. Once you have all the linkages and bolts taken out, simply hoist the tractor off of the rearend. That is the easiest way, IMO. Good luck!

No not a thing, I can only roll it backwards. It's locked, like the brake is on forwards. I can fire it up and drive it in any direction as normal, it's just when I try to push it.

I think you need to split the tractor. You can get at the hydro valves without completely pulling the rear out.It will still rest on the frame.Try switching the valves and see what the outcome is.Either way if the brake is stuck you gotta pull the rear completely out of the tractor.

That sounds like it is most likely a release valve.

I feel your pain! Narrow frame hydros are a PITA!!!
