What you all think????

Hello everyone out there.
As being a truck driver I see alot of "things" sitting around in yards etc.
Couple times I have passed this home area with a couple garages and mobile homes and thought I cought the color of yellow and maybe it being a Cub.
Well today I had the time to go by with my auto, not semi, and take a look.
WEEEEELLLLLLL.....There are 5 of them hiding and sitting deep in old dead grass and sinking into the yard and one Allis Chalmers with a tiller.
Talked to the wife of the house and said I would have to call back and find out if they were all for sale or not.

This is what I found:

Unknown model, no deck, front wheels off but there, no tins, no motor but a starter gen, stearing shaft, stearing wheel, seat and rearend with tires.

86 looks complete with deck

124 looks complete with deck

1000 looks complete with deck

1320 looks complete with deck

Some have things like drive shafts disconnected, chains here or there. Pretty rough on all of them.

I am thinking about offering $50 each no questions asked including the AC.
What do you guys think???

Thanks you guys opinion always counts with me.

Take care and enjoy
John

That sounds like a good starting point. They are worth that or more in scrap, but you could always pick and choose what you wanted. I don't think you would get hurt at $50 each. Go for it!:beerchug:

Sweet find! Goes to show ya never know till you ask. I think at fifty bucks per you wouldn't get hurt at all. Otherwise go for the 86 (lower production model, #5 on the list:biggrin2:), the 124, and the 1000. All GD cast iron good ole Cub Cadets! Shoot the Allis (not literally,LOL), if bought reasonable, could pay for all the others if you move it down the road later:ThumbsUp:. Good luck and keep us all posted.

I would think at that price, you can't go wrong, if worse comes to worse you could sell them to a scrap yard and come out okay....I am not saying that is the thing to do, surely there is some usable parts on those tractors. Anything can be fixed, just depends on how much cash you can throw at it...LOL.

Buy em all and sell the AC and 1320 to cover your cost for keeping the 124, 1000 and 86

Thanks all

My thoughts exactly on price..pretty much cannot go wrong with it...still have to call...want to make sure money is in place before i go blowing off at the mouth.

Planning on keeping the 86 for myself and yes ihnick my thoughts exactly there too...sell the AC (well may just give it to my father in law as he gave me my first Cub, my 108) and see what is wrong with the others...dont know about the 124 though..im kinda partial to the WF models myself. Keeping the 1000 also...humm...dunno....may have to part ways with it also to recoup purchase price and get my snowblower. Only one I really want it the 86 but there are 4, one carcus and an AC so of course I want them all...ahahhah...there are alot of other riding mowers there but nothing really special....there is also a rear motor cub but not really interested in it as its too new...

thanks all
take care
John
