OK, I've got a cub cadet 122 that I got from a friend. The carb was bad so I tried to rebuild but the brass bolt on the bottom was stripped. So I got another from a shop. It runs great, but from the bottom of the tank and around the glass bowl, fuel is just draining out. Are there any gaskets or anything that I can do to stop it?
Thanks for you help. |
If you are referring to the sediment bowel then yes you can replace the gaskets on it.
|
Or remove it and install a 90 degree outlet with a valve on it. If you would rather a sediment bowl, a common o ring should work

Lucas,
Yeah, nothing like a sediment bowel heheheheh I think he is taking about the bowl, but then again they are related... Are you saying that the tank is leaking above the bowl? If it is it can be one of two things to look at ,a crack in the tank nipple area, or hole in the bottom of the tank or, the nipple that comes out of the tank could use some Teflon tape on it. Hmmm that's three things. I would replace the fuel bowl gasket with a cork one, they still have them, bought a few last week, rubber ones will only give you heartache. |
Sounds like the guys are leading you in the right direction. So I'll just say............
:Welcome2: and :WWP: Oh yeah, I agree with Lew on this one also, get a cork gasket, BTDT. |
I guess I need to take spelling class again:biggrin2:

thanks for all of the feed back i was talking about the sediment bowl and from around the nipple on the bottom of the tank there are no cracks in the bottom of the tank. i think ill just put a bead of sealant around the base of the tank. do cork gaskets work just as good as rubber gaskets?
