Kohler engine question
I'm going to check out a CC with a 10HP which I think is the K241 engine, and has a black replacement engine. For a typical tractor which is not going to be a restored collector's item, etc., does a replacement engine help or hurt the value, or neither?
I'm planning on getting the serial number to see what year the engine is. Does anyone know if certain year engines are more or less desirable / valuable, or any particular year where quality control or componets could have gone downhill? Are there any other concerns or things I should check out on a CC with a replacement engine? Going to be my first CC, and tryin to cover all the bases. Josh P |
The K series Kohler motors are a very strong motor. Cub Cadet and other GT Manufactures used millions of them.
The replacement K Series motor would have NO difference in quality as compared to the OEM. Jump in get your Cub. |
Thanks, good to know. I suppose it wouldn't be a big deal to paint it yellow if it ever gets torn down for rebuild.

:) Would be the first thing I would do if I took it out.
