PTO on 782
Picked up a 782 yesterday and noticed that when I started it that the mower was engaged even though the switch was off. After driving it around the yard a couple minutes the mower disengaged. Today when I went to start it same thing mower was engaged with the switch in off position. Any ideas ?

Disconnect the wire connector at the PTO and see if it is still engaged. IF it is, then you have some mechanical problem with the PTO. IF it is not, then you will have to trace down a stray voltage that is supplying the PTO.

Found that the bearing was frozen
thanks for the help |
FWIW:
The bearing is replaceable ,no need to replace the whole thing. |
ok took a better look at the bearning and it looks like part of the pulley was peened over the bearing to hold it in place question is what is the easiest way to get it out.

Tap it out with a socket, clean it and use locking compond on the new one. My 1811 took a 6206 double sealed bearing.
