Hmm, What to get?????????????
I''m looking to get an electric clutch for my cub 127 hydro. But i don't know what to get.
Any one know any thing about these :bigthink: :bash2: |
The 127 uses the manual PTO clutch setup.
|
Yes i know, but im looking to put an electric clutch on it

How are you going to start it? You will loose the starting pulley for the S/G if you put an electric clutch on it. You could put an AQS motor into the 127 but then you will have a boat load of electrical mods you will have to make for it to work. It can be done, but why would you want an electrical PTO?.. The manual is cheaper to repair and much much easier to fix. :)

You would have to lose the PTO basket which has the pulley to start it. Most electric PTO's I have seen bolt right on the motor which will present a problem. I have thought about doing that before but would have to relocate and adapt another pulley to the flywheel side of the engine. And the S/G would have to be relocated. To much work for what little would be gained. :bigthink:

hmmmmmm ok

AND.....there are NO holes drilled and tapped for the Electric PTO to mount to.
|
I vote
I vote for duct tape. That stuff will hold anything. :HeeHee: I heard of guys wanting to switch over to the electric, never heard of anyone actually making it work.
|
The cost is another thing that always side tracked me on that project. Those electric PTO's cost more than I pay for running tractors.LOL It could be pulled off. Get a S/G that spins in the opposite direction and modify a pulley to mount on the drive coupling on the motor. Drill and tap some PTO mounting holes in the face of the engine. Anyone want to donate a electric PTO so I can get this project under way. :beerchug:

Let's see,I have a 10 hp ql motor that I switched the bearing plate, magneto, and dipstick,to run in my 70,let's see I have the holes tapped already in the block. All I need to do is mount the wheel horse S/G on it.Let's see,I have the brackets to mount it,still need a bigger pulley on the flywheel side.Let's see,I know a wheel horse flywheel would work not sure the drive cup will work though...then the rest is just wiring up the PTO. Just thinking out loud...
