Hydraulic unit on an O'??

Has anyone ever heard of or seen a hydraulic lift on an Original?? I'm contimplating doing such a thing and was wandering how feasible it is:bigthink: I know I'd have to swap out the flywheel pulley for a NF one so the unit can be powered and fabricate/drill holes in frame to mount. I can't find any pics of an O' with it and was wandering if it's ever been done? Has to have been:biggrin2:

I think I saw one on the other forums. If I recall it was on that one original with the m&w 9 speed. Either that or the same guys other original

This pic was taken from another forum, but yes it can be done. I think I remember seeing something about the pulley on the pump being a smaller diameter due to clearance issues.

Side tracked from what? Oh ya, hydro unit:HeeHee:

Thanks CCdude! I knew it had to have been done before, now just need to decide whether or not to do it:bigthink: Or just take the easier road and mount it on the 71 or 124.

Sounds like its worth a good try, if for nothing else but to try & make it work. The benefits of getting the hyd. lift to work on the O sure would make the tractor more enjoyable to use whenever you use it. Not only would it be cool due to its rarity in completion, but it would be a great excuse for more seat time plus the added safety from injury that comes from moving heavy objects (read: heavy attachments) both in lifting & rotating.

"O" hydro lift

OK sminky how about sharing the threads? i had hydro mocked up on an "O" that i had in '80. it wasnt as sanatary as i would have now, but it was a power steering pump from a japanese car, and a square gas tank from a briggs for a fluid reservoir. it was all mounted behind the grille housing and just under the hood. i used it to raise and lower a homade 3 point, similar to the one sears had at the time. it was slow, but worked until i had brain damage and sold it.
