What is this called?

I am not for sure what to call this, but a 14 inch cylinder rod broke on my 127, which was used to connect to a Brinly plow. The bar went through a box at the back of the tractor (and I don't know what you call that box either). I do not know if I can purchase another 14 inch rod or if this was a homemade device that my father rigged up.

I would appreciate anything you guys could share with this newbie.Attachment 8868

The rear end looks to be all hand made. The rear fender sheet metal shouldnt have notches like that in it. Hmm. As for the rod itself it appears to be Cub made. :bigthink: Just my two cents. Ill let someone here with better judgement give a better answer.

I agree with Dan. That is definitely hand made.

My dad has a tendency to make "modifications" to things. Thanks.

Do not know if it hand made or not but it looks very similar to the lift set up on my buddy's big Simplicity garden tractor. It has the same handle that comes up around the right side of the seat. Must be there idea of a 3pt hitch set up. Seems to work on his machine all right. He uses it to lift up a rototiller with. Not a tremendous amount of effort is needed either. :bigthink:

If your are talking about the lift on the back of the tractor, it looks like a sears hitch. Not enough there to tell if it is a sleeve or cat-o style three point. Metal it is attached to looks home made.
