Cub 169 Hour Meter Questions
I recently picked up a Cub cadet 169 and am trying to figure out the Hour Meter. How it Works ? Does it need to be reset at 600 Hours? Wiring diagram? How to test it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. here is a link to a Video i made of the Meter. Thanks, DanO'

Dan,
How are you? welcome. You do not have to reset it after 600hrs,it will keep going as long as you keep track of how many times it has turned over. You do not have to remove the tank to get to the back of the hour meter. You remove the small screw on the frame and the one bolt on the dash tower and that little panel will come off. Then you can test it to see if it works. If you look in the manuals section you will find a wiring diagram. Lew |
This link shows how to read the hour meter:
http://cubfaq.com/hourmeter.html Link to the chassis manual. Should have wiring diagram in it: Download and print it out. http://ccmanuals.info/pdf/1x8-9%20&%...e%20Manual.pdf |
Thanks Guys , Greatly appreciate it. BTW Do you know if that White Needle is suppose to Go around like a second hand on a clock or just move in one minute increnments?

Thanks again for all the info guys, just to fill you in on what I found...the Meter has a two wire connector on the back, one goes to the coil positive side, the other (on Mine) went NOWHERE! But it did have juice coming from it, so I'm thinking maybe it was an optional connection to a PTO to keep a Hour Meter on that as well?? I don't know, but anyway, Problem with mine was the Ground. NO GROUND WIRE..that's what the shematic showed, glad I didn't listen to that!!! The case is the only ground. Mine was poor contact, so i added a ground strap. here is the link to my updated You Tube Video.

The only thing bad about these meters is how many times has it went past 600 hours. Is it 1800 or ? hours.
