1650

Thoughts and opinions on a model 1650.

Good points.

Weaknesses.

What should I look for.

i don't own a WF but my uncle has a 1200 and the electric PTO went out. cost a good bit, i think like 80 bucks. also his ISO mounts are junk, which is a common problem from what the other members have said. look for the side panels. thought i try to help good luck!

Thanks Mike. There is just one pic. I know the left side panel is there.

The 1650 is a HOSS of a mower. Lots of torque with that big 16 horse motor. The QL's do have problems with the original engine ISO mounts, but on the plus side they are fairly easy to replace, and there is a cradle modification you can make that will cure the problem with the mounts. The Hydro units usually need some adjusting and might need a trunion repair, all of which are discussed here in depth. Again nothing hard to fix. I had a 1250 and really like it. I did all repairs on mine mentioned above myself. If all the parts are there and it looks to be in good shape, I think you would enjoy it.

Thanks. It would have the same cast iron diff, and hydro unit my 109 has?? Except it should have hydro lift??

CCdude 02-24-2011 12:49 PM

Other than having a ported pump for the hydraulic lift it will be the same transmission as your 109. The 1650 is a beast of a tractor and hydraulic lift is by far the best option to have on a tractor. On the other hand $750 seems a bit high priced in my opinion, especially with no mower deck or any other attachments.

Thanks CC.

It does say OBO. Whatever that means he would consider.

Apperently it doesn even come with mule drive, or any part of the quick attach assembly. Might be hard find in this neck of the woods.

The tractor looks decent from what little we can see, but I agree that with no deck the price is high. I'm not sure how hard it is to find a mule drive (can't imagine why it's not on there) but I would think one of the parts houses would have a used one. If you had to pay a few hundred for one, plus another 300 or so for a deck, you'd be getting into a lot of dollars. They aren't that rare a machine, you should be able to find a 149 or 1450 with deck for that same money, maybe a 1650 will be a bit harder to find.

I just happened to see this listing, I don't know if any of these fit a 1650 but someone here will be able to tell.

he sounds like a dealer (with the 6 month warranty) so maybe he moved the mule drive and mower separately? if he is a dealer I can't see him moving much.

being a fellow canuck I can tell you I payed $800 for a very similar good condition 169 with an excellent 50" mower deck last spring. I have since had to rebuild the Kohler.

it seems like we folks in the far north even have to pay bigger bucks for used stuff too.........:bash2:
