K161 in 73
Can someone please post a picture of the carb and sediment bowl setup on a 73 for me. I dont think mine is correct and I will be replacing the line and bowl since it needs to be done. Thanks in advance.

wire change
I have to rewire this tractor also. I have the new harness, what is the best way to go about it?
|
when i rewired my 123 it was much easier to run the harness in the frame rail with the engine out. not sure if this helps but it took alot less time to do it that way for me. Than all i had to do was hook up the S/G and coil.

i just took out the 4 bolts that hold the engine in and slid the engine forward and the 3pin driver slid out of the friction disk. but i also had the grill off

You should be able to slide it forward enough to get it out of the 3 pin driver and then lift it out without taking the grill off.

Jason,
I would remove the hood, most of the wiring to the VR, headlights, and S/G,you will be replacing it all anywho, remove pto turnbuckle, cast grill housing, choke and throttle cables, then remove the 4 bolts holding the motor. Be aware of the orientation of the anti rattle clips when removing the motor,it is best to leave the clutch pedal engaged so the disk does not move on you. The motor should slide right out. There should be a wire clips on the grill housing and next to the right footrest.Remove the debris plate from the bottom of the frame to make it easy to install the new harness.Did I miss anything? Here is a picture of the fuel line.... |
ok
Ok Lew so I know to remove the engine bolts etc, keep the brake in lock position.......Now, to move the engine away from the clutch, is their any bolts there or will it just slide away?
|
Jason,
No,you have to release the brake/clutch pedal this keeps the clutch plate in place so all you have to do when reinstalling the motor is slide the 3 pin driver back on the disk.Don,t forget to block the wheels to keep your 73 from rolling away while you pull the motor.... |
ok got ya
