The $17.00 72
4 Attachment(s)
I got this 72 at an auction 2 summers ago with a $7.00 70. Runs and drives well, that was 2 years ago.Pulled it out of storage and got it going,it is a little rough, but what do you expect for 17.00
I don't know what I am going to do with it.It is a pull start but it is missing the pull starter pulley.I have been looking hi and low for the correct pulley to go on the "coffin box".I have a correct Fairbanks Morse recoil, but the parts for the rest of it are so hard to come by.I may just part it or turn it into a battery ignition style system.Any suggestions besides selling it? |
At least you didn't over pay for it.:biggrin2:

Lewis,
You alway have a knack for finding cubs and getting great deals. I sure wouldn't part it out. Keep your eyes peeled and a pulley may surface someday. Another option would be as follows: Seeing you paid 17 bucks for it a couple years ago, take into account the economy/inflation, I'd probably give ya 34 bucks and double your money:biggrin2::biggrin2:. All kidding aside, you got a great deal along with the $7 cub!! Hope you are able to locate the missing parts. |
Lew, it's definitely worth one of your nice restorations!

Oh please don't part it. It looks to have alot of potential from the pictures!

After closer inspection of the pics, it looks like the po put a bracket on the front grill. They must of had a starter/gen that spun the wrong way and mounted it backwards to start it. That would be a perfect pic for one of the po mods!

Yeah Red56turbo,
That was on there, the po used a battery pack to start it.Sold that a long time ago... |
